LBI Car Service from Newark Airport: Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, and All Six LBI Municipalities
LBI car service from Newark airport. Chauffeured sedans, SUVs, and Sprinter vans to Long Beach Island: Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, Long Beach Township, and Barnegat Light at the north tip. Flat rates, Sprinter vans for multi-family beach houses.
~95 mi south · ~2 hr off-peak · GSP Exit 63, Route 72 east, Causeway
Why book this ride, not drive it down the Parkway
Flight tracking, flat rates, Sprinter capacity, and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time
Flight Tracking, Causeway-Aware Dispatch
We monitor your arrival from takeoff and watch GSP plus Causeway conditions in real time. Early landing, late landing, or a Friday-afternoon Causeway crawl, dispatch adjusts the pickup window automatically. The bridge onto LBI is the variable, and we plan for it.
Flat Rates, No Sunday Surge
The quote you receive is the final price. No surge on a Sunday return from Beach Haven. No hidden Parkway toll line items. Tolls and gratuity are built into the flat rate for every vehicle tier and every LBI municipality.
Sprinter Vans for Multi-Family Beach Houses
Two or three families splitting a Beach Haven or Holgate rental, eight to ten people with rollers, coolers, and boogie boards. One Mercedes Sprinter beats two SUVs on the GSP and the Causeway, and the per-person math works out.
60 Minute Complimentary Wait
Sixty minutes of wait time from your actual landing, included on every flat rate. Clear customs, find your bag, hit the restroom. No meter ticking, no extra charge, no rush before a two-hour drive south.
The drive to LBI: GSP Exit 63, Route 72 east, Manahawkin Bay Causeway
About 95 miles south, 2 hours off-peak, plus the Causeway variable
Distance and drive time
From the Newark Airport cell phone lot, our drivers head out via the Turnpike interchange, then south on the Garden State Parkway down to Exit 63 for Long Beach Island and Route 72 east. That’s the exit we use for every LBI drop, north end or south end, every municipality. Off-peak, the whole thing is about 2 hours door to door, give or take. A Friday afternoon in July, sure, you can pad another 60 to 90 minutes onto that, and most of that lives on the Causeway itself.
Route 72 east picks up off Exit 63 and brings you straight to the Manahawkin Bay Causeway, the only bridge onto Long Beach Island. The Causeway lands in Ship Bottom, which is the geographic middle of LBI. From there, our chauffeurs head north on Long Beach Boulevard for Surf City, Harvey Cedars, North Beach, Loveladies, and Barnegat Light borough at the north tip, or south for Brant Beach, Beach Haven Crest, Beach Haven, and Holgate at the very tip.
Summer-Friday Causeway timing: the honest part
The honest part: summer Friday afternoons, the Causeway onto Long Beach Island is the slowest part of the trip. We’ve watched a normally 6-minute crossing turn into 60 to 90 minutes between 2 PM and 7 PM on a hot July Friday. It’s a one-bridge island, and on summer turnover weekends, every renter, owner, and contractor in the state is trying to use it at the same time. The Sunday-afternoon northbound version on the return is its own thing. Beach Haven pickup, Sunday in August, 7 PM flight, our drivers want to leave by 3:30, not 4:00. The buffer matters, and it’s bigger than first-time LBI renters expect.
And, fair to say, the trip to LBI is a longer ride than what we do for Asbury Park or Point Pleasant. About 40 minutes longer than Point Pleasant off-peak, give or take. That’s the trade for the quietest beach scene on the Jersey Shore: Loveladies, North Beach, and the residential blocks of Harvey Cedars don’t get the boardwalk-weekend crowds that pour into Point Pleasant Beach. People who own on LBI know that already. First-time summer renters sometimes don’t, so we mention it before we quote the ride.
Garden State Parkway tolls for the EWR-to-LBI lane add roughly $8 to $14 each way depending on vehicle class. Sprinter and SUV tiers sit higher than a sedan on the axle classifications. Every toll and the gratuity is built into the flat rate, so a Loveladies family booking an Escalade for a 5 AM EWR transfer is never watching the meter at a Parkway gantry. It’s quoted up front and that’s the number you pay.
And the reverse direction, LBI back to Newark airport, works the same way. Same flat-rate band, same vehicles, same chauffeur quality. Most of our LBI clients book both legs at the same time: drop-off on arrival, pickup on departure, locked in before they fly.
What Our Clients Say
100+ verified Google reviews from Newark Airport travelers

[REVIEW_1, placeholder: real review from a Beach Haven family near Fantasy Island or Bay Village; should mention Fantasy Island, Bay Village, Centre Street, or a summer rental drop. Until ops sources a real one, the carousel uses a generic real review here.] Flew into Newark Friday night for a week at a rental two blocks off Bay Village. Driver was waiting, knew exactly which side street to use during Causeway traffic, got us to Beach Haven before the kids fell asleep. Booked the return ride before we even unpacked.

[REVIEW_2, placeholder: real review from a Ship Bottom or Surf City traveler; should mention Ship Bottom, Long Beach Boulevard, or the Causeway. Generic real review used until ops sources a neighborhood-specific one.] Our family has used them for years on the Ship Bottom pickup. Sunday afternoon in August, they had us off-island by 4 PM sharp. Driver knew to leave early. S-Class, on time, every summer. That’s exactly what we want.

[REVIEW_3, placeholder: real review from a Surflight Theatre or multi-family Sprinter group; should mention Surflight, a beach house, or 10 people in a Sprinter. Generic real review used until ops sources one.] Ten of us split a Holgate rental for a week. One Sprinter from EWR, all our bags, all our coolers, one driver, one flat rate. Beat the heck out of two SUVs. Caught a Surflight Theatre show that Friday night and used them again for the trip back.

Needed a car last minute for an early flight. Booked online. Got confirmation in five minutes. Driver knew the fastest way down. Made my flight with time to spare.

EWR to the shore at rush hour. Driver watched traffic and picked the right window. Fixed price meant I wasn’t watching a meter. Clean car, quiet ride.

First time using a car service instead of rideshare. Huge difference. Driver was waiting with my name on a sign. No wandering around looking for my ride. Worth it.

I fly out of EWR every week. Switched to this service after too many rideshare cancellations. Six months now, same quality every time. Fixed rates make expenses easy.

Pickup at 4:30 AM. Driver was there at 4:15. Helped with bags. Had water in the car. Small things, but they add up when you’re half asleep before a flight.

Booked an Escalade to pick up a client. Car was spotless. Driver wore a suit. Showed up right on time. Made a good impression. Will use again for client pickups.

Our company uses this for all Newark trips now. Fixed pricing made budgeting simple. Drivers are professional. Vehicles are always clean. No complaints in four months.

Manhattan to EWR during morning rush. Driver tracked traffic and picked a faster way. Flight tracking meant he knew exactly when to be there. Made my flight easy.

Got into Newark three hours late. Driver was still there. No extra fees. No attitude. Just grabbed my bags and we left. That’s the kind of service I’ll pay for.
Where we go on Long Beach Island
One flat-rate band covers all six LBI municipalities: Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, and Long Beach Township
Beach Haven and Ship Bottom
Beach Haven sits at the south end of LBI and gets the family-rental volume. Fantasy Island amusement park, Bay Village, the Surflight Theatre, blocks of cottages and bigger summer rentals stretching from the bay side to the ocean. Most of our Beach Haven drops are at a rental on Centre Street, Pearl Street, or one of the numbered streets near Bay Village, or a wedding at Daddy O or the Engleside Inn.
Ship Bottom is the geographic middle of the island and the town where the Causeway lands. A lot of first-time renters end up dropping luggage in Ship Bottom before they realize their actual rental is in Brant Beach or Harvey Cedars. We see this often, so our chauffeurs confirm the exact block before crossing the bridge.
Surf City, Harvey Cedars, Barnegat Light, and Long Beach Township
Surf City sits just north of Ship Bottom, walkable downtown, mid-island, family-friendly without the Beach Haven scale. Harvey Cedars sits further north, quieter, with the bayside views off Long Beach Boulevard and a steady residential character. Barnegat Light is the borough at the actual north tip of the island, home to Barnegat Lighthouse and the state park, the smallest of the six municipalities and the one most renters mean when they say “the north end.” Long Beach Township is the catch-all municipality that spans most of the island and includes the unincorporated sub-neighborhoods of Loveladies and North Beach near the north end, Brant Beach and Beach Haven Crest in the middle, and Holgate at the very south tip. When a renter says “we’re in Loveladies” or “the house is in Holgate,” that’s Long Beach Township on the tax bill, and it’s the same flat-rate quote as Beach Haven or Ship Bottom for our purposes.
Vehicle options and pricing for the LBI lane

From
$215.84
Up to 3 passengers, 2 bags. Mercedes E-Class or similar. Best for couples and solo business travelers heading to a Beach Haven hotel, Surflight Theatre evening, or a Harvey Cedars residential pickup.

6 to 14 passengers. Multi-family beach houses in Holgate, North Beach, or Loveladies, wedding-party shuttles to Daddy O, and corporate retreats booking a full LBI house for the week.
“From” rates above are starting points. See live ‘from’ pricing per pickup town and date in the booking widget at the top of the page. All flat rates include tolls, gratuity, and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time from your actual landing. Sprinter and SUV pricing covers groups of 6+ headed to or from a single Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, Barnegat Light, or Long Beach Township address.
Sedan and SUV
Two travelers with a couple of bags, our business-class sedan (Mercedes E-Class or similar) is the right pick for an LBI drop. Three or four travelers with full luggage and beach gear, the business-class SUV (Suburban, Escalade) gives you the rear cargo space. For a Loveladies or Harvey Cedars residential pickup, a first-class sedan (Mercedes S-Class) is the common request. Quiet ride, discreet pull-up, no fuss about the long bayside driveway.
Sprinter van
The Sprinter is the multi-family answer for LBI. Two or three families splitting a Holgate or North Beach rental for a week, eight to ten people total, six rollers, a couple of coolers, and a stack of boogie boards, that’s a Sprinter. Fits everyone in one vehicle, beats coordinating two SUVs across the Causeway, and the per-person math usually beats two cars once you add both flat rates. It’s also the standard pick for wedding-party shuttles to a Beach Haven venue or a corporate retreat booking a full LBI house. Our Newark airport Sprinter van service page covers the bigger options, and Sprinter van vs multiple cars walks through the math.

Common LBI rides we handle
Summer beach-house weeks, Surflight Theatre nights, and off-season residential work
Summer beach houses (Saturday turnover)
Saturday is the LBI turnover day. New renters arriving, old renters leaving, every beach house on the island swapping families between 11 AM and 4 PM. Our chauffeurs do a steady stream of Saturday afternoon drops from EWR, a family of four or six flying in from Chicago, Dallas, or Atlanta for a week in Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, or Harvey Cedars. The Causeway between 2 and 6 PM Saturday is the slow window, and we plan around it.
One thing worth saying: rideshare on a summer Sunday afternoon out of LBI back to EWR can be brutal. Surge gets real, and the available-driver pool thins out fast once everyone’s heading home. A flat-rate pre-booked ride avoids both. People learn this the hard way once.
Surflight Theatre evenings (Beach Haven)
The other rhythm on this lane is the Surflight Theatre evening pickup. Surflight runs Broadway-style productions all summer in Beach Haven, and we get parties of two to six flying into EWR for a Friday-night show plus a weekend on the island. Couples, retired theater regulars, anniversary trips. Sedan or SUV, drop right at the Surflight on Engleside Avenue, then over to the hotel or rental. Our chauffeurs know to stage near the theater after curtain, since taxis on Engleside on a Friday night get scarce fast.
Off-season residential (Loveladies, Harvey Cedars)
Off-season, LBI turns into one of our quieter, steadier slices of work. October through April, residential pickups for trips down to Charleston or Naples, the occasional grandchild’s wedding, a Wednesday-morning return from a board meeting in London. First-class sedan, on time, no chitchat unless the client opens it. Loveladies and Harvey Cedars are towns that value that kind of service, and we built the lane for it. And, fair to say, the regulars on this lane are loyal: the same Loveladies and Harvey Cedars families book us four or five times a year for the same flight pattern.
For travelers heading north along the shore corridor instead, our Point Pleasant car service page covers the Northern Barnegat Peninsula lane (Bay Head, Mantoloking, Lavallette). The broader Monmouth County car service page covers the next county up (Red Bank, Spring Lake, Long Branch, Asbury Park). And our Newark airport to Jersey Shore overview breaks down all four shore destinations and the drive math for each. If you’re planning the trip itself, Things to do on LBI is the planning piece worth a read before you fly.
And the reverse direction, LBI back to Newark airport, works the same way. Same flat-rate band, same vehicles, same chauffeur quality. Most of our LBI clients book both legs at the same time, drop-off on arrival, pickup on departure, locked in before they fly. For travelers heading further south after a Newark layover, our Newark to Atlantic City car service lane sits about 35 minutes further south of Manahawkin. Same chauffeurs, same flat-rate model.
LBI car service: frequently asked questions
Pricing is flat-rate by vehicle tier, with the same band covering all six LBI municipalities: Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, and Long Beach Township (which includes Loveladies, North Beach, Brant Beach, and Holgate). Business-class sedan is the entry tier, business-class SUV is the most common LBI pick for families with luggage and beach gear, and the Sprinter van handles groups of 6 to 14 for multi-family beach houses or wedding-party shuttles. The booking widget shows the live “from” rate per lane and date, and the quote locks at booking. Tolls, gratuity, and 60 minutes of complimentary wait time from your actual landing are included in every flat rate.
About 95 miles, and our drivers do it door-to-door in roughly 2 hours off-peak. Garden State Parkway south to Exit 63, then Route 72 east, then over the Manahawkin Bay Causeway onto Long Beach Island. Add 60 to 90 minutes on a summer Friday afternoon, and most of that lives on the Causeway itself between 2 and 7 PM. For an early Monday flight, we tell Beach Haven and Harvey Cedars clients to leave by 4:00 AM if the takeoff is before 8.
Yes. Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Ship Bottom, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, and Long Beach Township (Loveladies, North Beach, Brant Beach, Holgate) all sit on this page’s flat-rate band. Our chauffeurs know Long Beach Boulevard, the side streets behind Bay Village, and the bayside driveways in Loveladies and Harvey Cedars. Same flat-rate quote per vehicle tier across the island, same 60-minute complimentary wait time, same flight tracking. Pick your pickup or drop-off town in the booking widget and the live rate shows for that exact address.
Yes. The Mercedes Sprinter handles 6 to 14 passengers with full luggage and is the common pick for multi-family LBI beach houses. Two or three families splitting a Beach Haven, Holgate, or North Beach rental for a week, eight to ten people with rollers, coolers, and boogie boards, fits in one Sprinter without anyone holding a bag on a lap. The per-person math usually beats two SUVs once you add both flat rates, and it’s one driver, one pickup window, one Causeway crossing instead of two. Same flat-rate model applies, no surge, tolls and gratuity included.
The Manahawkin Bay Causeway is the only bridge onto Long Beach Island, and summer Friday afternoons between 2 PM and 7 PM are the worst window. A normally 6-minute crossing can stretch to 60 or 90 minutes when every renter, owner, and contractor is trying to use it at the same time. Saturday turnover between 11 AM and 4 PM is the second-worst window. The Sunday-afternoon northbound version on the return runs 30 to 60 minutes added between 3 and 7 PM. Our dispatch watches Causeway conditions live and adjusts pickup windows automatically, and we always tell summer renters with an early Monday flight to leave by 4:00 AM if the takeoff is before 8.
